Abstract:
Introduction
This research addresses the comprehensive redesign of the Nasim glider's interior. Initiated by an extensive library study, this endeavor aimed to establish requisite standards and guidelines. The prime focus was to align the glider's design with Iranian anthropometric data, ensuring optimal ergonomic performance. The study aimed to address discomforts reported by pilots, improve operational aspects, and enhance overall user experience.
Methods and Materials / Case Report
Dimensions of the Nasim glider were meticulously extracted for use in 3D simulations, using Iranian anthropometric data as a benchmark. Additionally, interviews were conducted with five experienced Nasim pilots to identify discomforts and operational issues. Ergonomic evaluations were performed by experts, factoring in anthropometric data, visual and thermal comfort, noise levels, and panel gauge allocation.
Results
The study led to the identification of specific ergonomic challenges within the Nasim glider's interior. Based on these findings, a set of limitations and guidelines were established to guide the redesign process. Critical components such as seating, mounting parts, handles, and panels underwent a redesign process aimed at addressing the identified limitations.
Conclusion
The study employed a systematic approach to address ergonomic concerns within the Nasim glider's interior. By integrating expert evaluations, anthropometric data, and user feedback, three distinct redesign solutions were formulated. The expert panel's evaluation led to the selection of the most suitable redesign solution, offering potential enhancements in ergonomic performance and user comfort.
