مقدمه

"Today, people spend long hours in the workplace. Industrial centers, administrative offices, universities, and other institutions play a significant role in employment in developing countries. Workers are required to be in physical conditions that can lead to the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The aim of the study is to evaluate the economic impact of the ergonomics system using economic methods."

"To measure the profitability of investing in ergonomics using economic methods, the study surveys the costs associated with implementing ergonomic improvements. This paper defines the cash flow values as fuzzy numbers, and then calculates the profitability of the ergonomics project using the Internal Rate of Return (IRR)."

یافته‌ها

Based on the conducted studies, the average Internal Rate of Return (IRR) was 12%. Also, considering that the minimum and maximum values of the IRR were 10% and 14%, respectively, and these values are greater than the market rate (7%), we found that ergonomic considerations can be an economically efficient and advisable project. The current study showed that investing in ergonomics leads to an increase in work quality, reduction of musculoskeletal disorders, and a decrease in occupational absences."
